SHS Contemporary, "Tempo", came to Shoreline Hill Stables as a proven broodmare. She had a brief history in jumpers, but was retired at an early age due to a ligament injury. Life as a mother suited her much better anyway and even though Tempo could be a bit on the lazy side at times, her foals excelled in the show ring. Lily discovered Tempo through an advertisement in the paper: A stud farm on the outskirts of Queenstown was closing its doors and liquidating all of its bloodstock. Lily had already admired some of Tempo's foals in some local hunter/jumper shows and was impressed by their movement and conformation. Despite Tempo not having a stellar show record herself, she still stood out to Lily and it just so happened that she was in the market for another broodmare. Lily took the new mare home and introduced her to the herd. Tempo and Dawn seemed to really take to each other and became fast friends. They could always been seen grooming each other or standing opposite each other lazily swatting away flies with their tails.
